HIFU is a safe, effective and non-invasive procedure for tightening skin. HIFU uses ultrasound energy to target specific layers in the epidermis, dermis, subcutaneous tissue, and SMAS layer, without any damage to the skin. The ultrasound energy causes the tissue to heat up rapidly. Once the cells reach a certain temperature, they experience cellular damage, which stimulates the cells to produce and stimulate more collagen, the protein that provides structure to the skin. The result in the increased collagen results in firmer skin. It can be used for overall facial rejuvenation, lifting, tightening, and body contouring.
